Nanawale Estates Hawaii is located in the lower Puna District on the Big Island of Hawaii. As of the 2010 census there are 1,426 people in 520 households residing in this subdivision. It is located along the southeastern side of Hawaii island and is a somewhat popular subdivision for people from the mainland and locals alike to rent and buy homes for sale. It is located just outside Pahoa Town along Highway 137. There are 3,440 lots that in this subdivision that average 8,040 sq. ft. each. The main roads in Nanawale Estates are paved and all other roads are cinder and are maintained by the association. Many residents live in Nanawale Estates and work in and around Hilo, Keaau and Pahoa. There is electricity available throughout the subdivision and the water in on the catchment system. There is an HOA with CC&R’s. Nanawale Estates is located in Lava Hazard Zone 2. Traffic in the morning going into Hilo Town might be a little slow due to being located farther down the highway from larger subdivisions. Going home from Hilo can be a little slow.
